St. Jude Hope Scholarship FAQ
Good news! Thanks to the generosity of our gracious benefactors, when you enroll your child(ren) for the 24-25 school year, they will automatically receive an additional financial aid award, the St. Jude Hope Scholarship. How is this possible and what does this mean for your family? Read below to learn more and click here if you have not yet applied to enroll your child(ren) for the 2024-25 school year.
Who is providing the additional scholarship funds?
Our generous benefactors will fund the St. Jude Hope Scholarship.
How much will my child(ren)’s additional scholarship be?
The St. Jude Hope Scholarship will be up to $1,000 for each student in Kindergarten-Grade 2 and up to $250 for each student in Grades 3-8.
What do I need to do to receive this additional scholarship?
You must complete and submit a 2024-25 TADS financial aid application before April 1, 2024.
Does this mean my child(ren)’s tuition for next year will be $600-$1,000 less than it was this year?
In most cases, yes! However, if your household income level has risen since last year – or if you are now receiving any social service benefits (SNAP, TANF, etc.) – your “parent tuition obligation” (i.e. how much you are expected to pay in tuition) may be higher than it is this school year. Either way, your child’s tuition for the 24-25 school year will likely be significantly lower than it was for the 23-24 school year!
Will this additional scholarship “follow” my child throughout the rest of their years at SS. Cyril/Philomena?
Right now, the St. Jude Hope Scholarship is only planned for the 2024-25 school year. That said, we are working closely with donors and benefactors to strengthen our financial aid offerings in the years ahead.
I have a child that attends another IMS school. Will they also receive the St. Jude Hope Scholarship?
For the 2024-25 school year, the St. Jude Hope Scholarship is only available to students who are enrolled at Our Mother of Sorrows/St. Ignatius of Loyola (OMSSI), SS. Cyril & Philomena or DePaul Catholic.
When will I see the St. Jude Hope Scholarship “hit” my TADS account?
If you submit your financial aid application by the April 1 deadline, your child(ren)’s St. Jude Hope Scholarship will be applied to your TADS account before tuition billing begins in August 2024.
If my child(ren) currently receives another scholarship or financial aid award, are they still eligible for the St. Jude Hope Scholarship?
Yes! The St. Jude Hope Scholarship is in addition to any other awards your child already receives or will receive.
My child is enrolling mid-year. Will they still be eligible to receive the St. Jude Hope Scholarship?
Yes, mid-year enrollments will receive a prorated scholarship, depending on the month they enroll.
