8th Graders to Host Family Health and Wellness Day on May 13

On Saturday, May 13, the 8th graders of SS. Cyril & Philomena Catholic School will host a Family Health and Wellness Day from 1 to 4 pm. This is the capstone of a semester-long project on the social determinants of health that the 8th grade has been working on with Coach Devon Buchanan from FOCUS Youth Network.

The event, to be held on the school grounds in Lansdowne, promotes “Living a Lifetime of Wellness” by taking control of your physical, mental, and social well-being. The event will feature a Bounce House for kids, Team building games and activities for families, cooking demonstrations, healthy food options, presentations on proper exercise and nutrition, raffles, and much much more!

All are welcome. Pre-registration is required to be entered in the door prize raffle. To pre-register, click here.

Event partners include Delaware County Health Department, which will provide water bottles, first aid kits, pens, and nutrition-related activities; Giant, which has donated $150 in gift cards to be used for raffles and giveaways; and FOCUS Youth Network which will provide the Bounce House, games and equipment, as well as cooking demonstrations.
